Prof. Yuning Wu gave a talk on crime and space. She challenged us on what should form a crime, what triggers crime, and what really prevents crime. Then, we had the first dialogue between the residents of Detroit and Shenyang. During the two hours, both parties showed great interest in one another and we discussed the lively music scene shared by both cities, their rich history, and their concerns regarding the future of their cities, from education to environment protection to the morality. Many felt that we need another session for a dialogue like this.
