The C3JD REU Program will provide under-represented students with a unique opportunity to develop their conceptual understanding of research and their practical understanding of how to conduct research through a variety of methodologies. Students who complete the C3JD REU Program and strengthen their understanding of research and evidence-based practices will be ready for academic and professional careers of which they can contribute to meaningful change and also be prepared for leadership positions in which they will be able to address the inequities that continue to permeate our communities and criminal justice system.

Those selected for the program will serve as junior researchers on one of three research teams. They will also participate in enrichment activities and workshops to supplement the research experience, including opportunities to interact with criminal justice professionals and researchers, as well as GRE preparation. Students will engage in several social and cultural activities (e.g., online virtual trips, information sessions).

Each student will receive a weekly stipend of $600 ($4,800 for 8 weeks), free housing, and a meal-plan for involvement in the C3JD-REU.
