New web training requirements for editors

Beginning June 2020, all editors accessing CLAS websites are required to complete web and accessibility training.

These new trainings adequately cover the basics of using our content management system (CMS), best practices for publishing digital content, as well as accessibility standards for people with disabilities.

New editors going forward will be required to complete these trainings before gaining access to their department’s website. It’s a good idea to factor this in when selecting new editors for your unit(s).

Existing editors must complete the required trainings by Sept. 4, 2020 to retain access to their department’s site.

The CLAS Marketing Team cannot assume responsibility for maintaining the department’s news, spotlights, and other content updates in the absence of an editor that has completed the required trainings.
