Alyssa Beavers is a registered dietitian and assistant professor in the Nutrition and Food Science department at Wayne State University. Much of her recent work has focused on community-based nutrition research in urban gardening and food security. In addition to teaching and research, she is also a member of the Detroit Policy Council.
