America is often called a “melting pot of cultures,”
A swirling pool of color and substance
An overwhelming sea of hot white, dominating and swift
The colors may mix but the blinding white remains constant
They fight and fight, bubbling up and spilling out
As people pass, hundred walks of life, we are distant still
These stories that should connect us, highlight ignorance just as much as strength
The privilege to ignore and to perpetuate plagues us
Continue to fight
Continue to speak
Show your true colors despite the heat
