Hello, my name is Autumn Conner, and I am currently a junior here at Wayne State University. I transferred here before the start of the fall 2023 semester. My major is psychology with a minor in sociology but, I plan to do the accelerated nursing as a second-degree program once I graduate next winter. I grew up in the metro Detroit area and still live here today. I am the youngest of 5 children: I have 3 older brothers and one sister. My biggest fear in life is not living up to my potential and not being in a good spot in life.

If I could live anywhere in the world I would live in Paris; I have always been interested in French culture, and it has always been a dream of mine to travel and eventually live there. I took French classes a couple of years ago and I am actively trying to continue to self-teach myself the language. As far as a dream vacation goes, I cannot say where I want to go exactly as my main goal in life is to be able to travel the world and see all types of different people and cultures.

When I was younger, I wanted to be an actress, I had taken acting classes and even went to a few auditions to try to get into the industry. The dream is still there although now it has been placed a little further down on my list as my main goal right now is to finish school.

When I graduate from WSU (Wayne State University). I will essentially have two degrees and plan to take the NCLEX-RN exam and become a travel nurse in the NICU (Neonatal intensive care unit). I do not currently have a side hustle but, I wish that I did since I cannot really work a job being a full-time student throughout the week. I have been doing research on different things that I could potentially do to earn more cash to spend as well as being able to pay my car-note.

The most recent movie that I have seen is called “Poor Things” and one of the main characters is played by actress Emma Stone (She also played in Cruella as well as The House Bunny alongside Ana Farris). The film divulged into the topic of what it means to be a woman in society and the hardships that we can face while trying to find our place in the world. It was also funny, and I enjoyed it. I look forward to learning about social inequality this semester with you and the rest of the class as I do have an interest in sociology.
