Advisory board

The ELD Advisory Board is comprised of experts in cultural heritage management, local history, library sciences, information technology, and computer science. We consult with members of the Board regularly. They assist us in the development and review of case study narratives, connect us with relevant people and resources in the community, and provide us with feedback on our narratives.

Additionally, the ELD project team has also cultivated relationships with several local community organizations representing religious, cultural, and ethnic groups. Given that ELD is creating digital stories about different historical sites in the Detroit area there are numerous synergies between various Detroit-based community organizations and ELD. ELD is developing relationships and ties to not only community and cultural organizations in the Detroit area, but also national and international organizations that are engaging in place-based digital storytelling such as German Traces of NYC and the Cleveland Historical Project.

ELD is also supported by numerous entities both within WSU such as the Humanities Center and Foreign Language Technology Center (FLTC) and outside such as the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). From grant monies to resources and technology support, the support of these entities has been vital to the progress of ELD. The members of the ELD Advisory Board, local, national and international organizations and various supporters provide points of connection to the wider Detroit and place-based digital storytelling communities and these vital connections are and will be, the vehicle for expanding upon and disseminating the digital narratives as the project continues to grow after the initial 18-month funding period of this proposal.
