Emily Grekin, Ph.D.
I plan to take one new doctoral student under my research mentorship starting Fall of 2025.
Dr. Grekin’s work focuses on the development of brief, highly accessible interventions for substance use. She is particularly interested in the ways in which technology and social media can be used to create and disseminate substance use interventions, with current lab projects using both YouTube and Instagram as intervention platforms. She also has longstanding interests in (1) the relationship between disinhibited personality traits and substance use and (2) the ways in which race and culture affect patterns and perceptions of substance use.
Outside of academia, she enjoys mystery novels, crossword puzzles, long walks, chili cook-offs, Psychology-themed documentaries, and highlander grog-flavored coffee.
