The Healthy Brain Aging Lab is located on the first floor of the Integrative Biosciences building (6135 Woodward Ave) on Wayne State University’s main campus. Please arrive a few minutes early, if possible, and alert the front desk security that you are here to participate in our study. One of our Research Technicians will come and get you from the lobby.

 

PARKING

For the study, you may park in the Integrative Biosciences parking lot alongside the building, located off of Woodward Ave and Burroughs St. Please notify us if you would like to use this option. You may also park along the street on Amsterdam St, Cass Ave, or Burroughs St for free.

 

ACCESS

Please use the front door of the building (facing Woodward Ave) to check in with security. To get to the front of the building from the Integrative Biosciences parking lot, walk down Burroughs St toward Woodward Ave, then turn left onto Woodward Ave. You will see the front doors on the front of the building, left side. The door is unlocked and does not require a Wayne State ID card to enter. Please check in at the front desk, just inside the front doors.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From Eastbound I-94:
Take Exit 215C at Woodward/John R.
Turn right on John R (one way).
Turn right onto Hendrie St.
Turn right onto Woodward Ave.
Turn left onto Burroughs St (just past the Integrative Biosciences building).
Turn right into the Integrative Biosciences parking lot.

From Westbound I-94:
Take Exit 215C at Woodward/Brush St (the first exit after I-75).
Turn right onto Beaubien St (right before brick apartment buildings).
Turn left onto East Milwaukee Ave (three streets down).
Turn left onto Woodward Ave.
Turn right onto Burroughs St (just past the Integrative Biosciences building).
Turn right into the Integrative Biosciences parking lot.

From The Lodge (M-10) Southbound:
Take Exit 4C toward West Grand Boulevard.
Merge onto John C Lodge Service Drive (toward brick apartment/condo buildings).
Turn left onto West Grand Boulevard (before tall HAP building).
Turn right onto Woodward Ave.
Turn right onto Burroughs (just past the Integrative Biosciences building).
Turn right into the Integrative Biosciences parking lot.

From The Lodge (M-10) Northbound:
Take exit 4C toward West Grand Boulevard.
Turn right onto West Baltimore St (past U-Haul trucks).
Turn right onto Cass Ave (just past parking garage).
Turn left onto Burroughs St (just before WSU Police Department building).
Turn left into the Integrative Biosciences parking lot.

Southbound I-75:
Take Exit 54 toward Clay Ave/East Grand Blvd.
Merge onto Chrysler Drive/I-75 Frontage Rd (toward BP gas station).
Turn right onto East Grand Blvd (toward Triumph Church – East Campus sign).
Turn left onto John R St.
Turn right onto Milwaukee Ave (just past Fire Water Bar & Grill – red building).
Turn left onto Woodward Ave.
Turn right onto Burroughs Ave (just past the Integrative Biosciences building).
Turn right into the Integrative Biosciences parking lot.

From I-96:
Take I-96 to I-94 East.
Follow directions for Eastbound I-94.

The second session of the study, consisting of the MRI procedure, will be located at Harper Hospital. See below for instructions.

PARKING

For the study, you may park in the visitor parking lot on Wayne State’s medical campus near Harper Hospital. If parking is not free, you will be reimbursed for the parking costs.

Take Exit 3 toward Forest Ave/Warren Ave.
Merge onto John C Lodge Service Drive (past apartment complex).
Turn left onto West Forest Ave (toward the Baptist church).
Turn right onto Woodward Ave (Shell gas station at corner).
Turn left onto E Canfield St/Midtown Loop (just before HopCat).
Turn right onto John R St/Midtown Loop (just before parking garage).
Turn left onto E Willis Ave (just before DMC sign).
Turn right into hospital parking lot.
