Electrons are quantum mechanical objects existing in all physical systems. Understanding the states of electrons, how they interact with the environment and each other, is a vital scientific subject and has played a critical role in advancing modern science and technologies.
As an experimental condensed matter physics group, we investigate quantum behaviors of electrons subject to substantial inter-particle interaction. This may lead to quantum phase transitions and the emergence of remarkable manybody effects rooted in both symmetry and topology. Studying strongly correlated phenomena plays a fundamental role of expanding new frontiers in condensed matter physics.
