Parking

Like in any major city, parking in Detroit *can* be a pain – but your friendly neighborhood conference organizers are here to help! Check out our tips below to make your “parking in Detroit” experience stress free (and affordable)!

Street Parking

Although there is some free street parking in Detroit, most of the areas near campus have meters and are part of the “Pay by Plate” system. You can use change or a credit card at the meters/kiosks, or download the app and pay online! The app also reminds you when your meter is running out and allows you to add more time without going back to the kiosk!

Pro-tip: Meters are not monitored before 7 AM, after 10 PM, or on Sundays (meaning you can park for FREE during those times)!

Lot/Structure Parking (on campus)

We recommend parking at Parking Structure 1 located at 450 W. Palmer Ave., Detroit, MI (across from the law school) or Parking Structure 2 located at 5150 Lodge Service Dr., Detroit, MI (between the John C. Lodge Service Drive and Anthony Wayne). These lots are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Visitor parking for the day does not exceed $12 (cash or major credit cards accepted – kiosks are located inside each structure).

Check out this interactive map of on-campus parking for more information.

Lot/Structure Parking (off campus)

If you are parking off campus but would prefer using a monitored lot/structure to street parking, we recommend using Parkopedia to find your spot!
