Features

In my time at Wayne State University, I have been featured in a number of capacities, sharing both my knowledge and experience. Below are some of those.

Mandela Washington Fellowship Coach

I had the honor to work as a coach with the Mandela Washington Fellowship offered through the U.S. Department of State. Wayne State University was able to host 25 awesome African leaders for 6 weeks where they took courses, participated in community events, volunteered, had some fun, and inspired others. I was privileged to work with Fellow Daniel Worku from Ethiopia, on his project of establishing a career development center. I hope to stay in contact with Daniel and follow his work for the years to come!

Faculty Teaching Highlights

I kicked off this new video series that features faculty sharing one best practice that has been helpful to them. My segment on Engaging  Your Students ran on October 6, 2021.

Trauma-Informed Teaching

As part of the April 2021 issue of Teaching@Wayne offered by the Office for Teaching & Learning (OTL), I was interviewed by Greg Steele on Trauma-Informed Teaching. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, and with teaching being handled online/remote, all instructors have had to address trauma-informed teaching in some way. This interview provides some great insights and information.

Accessibility

My responses to questions regarding accessibility were featured in the Office for Teaching and Learning’s (OTL) Weekly Newsletter (11/19/20). Ensuring that our courses, materials, and the overall learning experience is accessible to all students is the responsibility of all instructors.
