Ava manages data and develops file organizational systems for the Brain Development Study. Her responsibilities include overseeing data access, cleaning, and storing; implementing data integrity standards; training research staff on data use procedures; and developing and integrating database organization protocols into laboratory operations.

About Ava’s Research

I am interested in the neural mechanisms underlying developmental disorders, and the role of experience and environment in early functional brain changes and developing behavioral systems. Some of my areas of focus in the DYAD Lab include the maternal relational environment, prenatal attachment, fetal and infant MRI, and maternal stress. Outside of the DYAD Lab, I currently coordinate a neurodevelopment study at NYU, and also have prior experience assisting in research projects in relationship science and neuropsychopharmacology. I intend to pursue doctoral studies in clinical neuropsychology.

More About Ava

I have been with the lab since spring 2018, and currently work remotely from New York City. I am passionate about making science accessible and advocating for the role of women in STEM! Outside of research and schoolwork, some of the things I get up to include reading, going for walks and hikes, playing guitar, listening to podcasts, and being with my beloved dog, Maxwell.
