Anna Compton B.Sc

My research interests are broadly in examining risk and resilience in promoting the neurodevelopment of self-regulation and emotion competence in young children and their parents. For example, how do prenatal experiences, such as exposure to environmental toxicants, maternal stress, or maternal sleep quality impact the emergence of self-regulatory and socioemotional skills in young children?

I am originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish. In my free time I love to go on hikes and play with my German Shepherds, Millie and Piper, try new restaurants, and travel.
