Prof. Xuefei Ren gave a talk on the newtowns on the rustbelt of China. She guided us to understand the mechanism and motivation behind the booming of such newtowns.

After a lunch reception, the audience braved the heat and went on a guided tour by Mr. Michael Boettcher of the old Chinatown of Detroit. The ups and downs of the Chinatown reflected the rise and decline of Detroit.
