We are pleased to announce a call for papers on the “Neurochemistry of the Chromaffin Cell.”
These papers will be published in a special issue of the “Journal of Neurochemistry.” The major themes of this special issue will concern the adrenal chromaffin cell, its role in autonomic physiology and the synaptic, cellular and molecular mechanisms that control its secretory function. Additional important themes of the special issue will concern functionally-related cell types, including neurons and pancreatic beta cells, whose cellular and molecular operation informs our understanding of chromaffin cell biology.
Within this broad framework, the special issue will consider original research articles and systematic reviews that have relevance to mechanisms of membrane trafficking, exo/endocytosis, neuro/peptide secretion, Ca2+ signaling, lipid metabolism and dynamics, neurotransmission, stimulus-secretion coupling and related topics. We expect that submissions representing a range of perspectives and performed in a variety of model systems will broadly elevate our understanding of neurochemical and cell biological processes fundamental to life.
Deadline
The deadline for submission will be Feb. 1, 2026.
