Police Stress Research Group

The Police Stress Research Group (PSRG) is an interdisciplinary research team committed to generating knowledge about factors relating to safety, health, and wellness among police officers. The PSRG was created in 2015 to bring together scholars with different areas of expertise to specifically study the impact of neighborhood environments on police officer stress. The research team is committed to understanding how officers’ daily lives are impacted by stress and identifying programs that mitigate the effects of stress as a way to enhance officers’ safety and wellbeing. The PSRG was selected by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to conduct a research project consistent with the agency’s Safety, Health, and Wellness Strategic Plan 2016-2021.
