This highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary study provides an exciting new framework for understanding the potential cause of Barth syndrome! This research, which utilized genetic, biophysical, lipidomic, and computational approaches, as well as a wide array of Barth syndrome research models, addresses a gap in our understanding of Barth syndrome by identifying peroxidase complex formation as a primary, direct consequence of impaired cardiolipin remodeling.
