Tyler Ralph-Epps took first place in the poster presentation competition. Tyler’s poster centers around one potential hypothesis as to why acyl-carnitine concentrations are increased in CL-deficient cells.

Abu Ramim took third place in the poster presentation competition. Ramim’s poster hypothesizes that branched chain amino acid metabolism may be upregulated in CL-deficient cells.

Dr. Zhuqing Liang presented a poster on the complex interplay between cardiolipin and the regulation of pyruvate dehydrogenase through its phosphatase and kinase.

Chisom Onu presented a poster on one potential mechanism of inositol depletion by the mood stabilizing drug valproate. This brings us one step closer to understanding the mechanism of action behind this life saving drug for bipolar disorder.
